Purrfect Stamper Demonstrator Team OnStage Goodie Bags

Craft with Beth: Stampin' Up! OnStage April 2019 Purrect Stamper Demonstrator Team Goody Bags

To celebrate my demonstrator team, I made OnStage goody bags for my team members that attended OnStage! Inside each of my team members' bags, I put an assortment of treats and convention essentials.

The hand sanitizer and the tissues are for cleaning ink off our hands. The notebook and the diamond-topped pen are to take notes on all of the new and exciting products. We all need a little bling! The cat sticky tabs are to mark our favorite stamp sets in the catalog. The gummies are in case we need a snack. We had cat ear headbands for a fun way to celebrate our team name.

I used the Layering Oval Framelits, shrink paper, and Calypso Coral Nature's Twine to create embellishments for our Craft and Carry totes, so we could tell them apart from everyone else's totes.

First, I die cut the second largest oval framelit and the second largest scalloped oval framelit from a sheet of white shrink paper.

Then I stamped the cat and the bow images with Staz On ink in the center of the oval die cut. I let the ink dry before coloring it in with Stampin' Blends. To make sure the images stayed on the shrink paper after baking, I used permanent ink and alcohol markers. Staz On and Stampin' Blends are both alcohol based, so they attract and blend into each other. I was careful to avoid touching the Staz On with the Stampin' Blends. Whatever areas did touch, I used a permanent black marker to redraw the lines. It sounds more cumbersome than it actually was.

For the scalloped oval die cut, I colored the entire oval with a Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend. Once the ink was dry, I punched 1/4" holes at the tops of each of the die cuts. Then I baked them in the oven.

Once the shrink paper was cool, I adhered the oval die cut to the scalloped oval die cut with strong glue. I used E6000 but Tombow liquid glue may also work. I placed each of the tags under a heavy weight while they dried to ensure a flat tag.

For the tassels, I wound Calypso Coral Nature's Twine around a 3" x 3" piece of cardstock, slid off the loops, and glued one end into a silver tassel cap I purchased online. I tied a scrap of the same twine in a knot around the loops immediately below the tassel cap and pushed that into the tassel cap to keep the loops together. I left the glue dry before cutting and trimming the other end of the tassel loops.

One of the ladies on my team loves dogs, so I made her a special dog embellishment tag.

I added a jump ring to the top of the tassel cap and threaded both the tassel cap and the cat/dog embellishment tag onto a ball chain.

EDIT: These goody bags were a huge hit! I am so glad my team enjoyed their goody bags!

You can find a supply list at the end of this post.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cookie Cutter Bling

I participated in a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Christmas Swap at my upline's last meeting. Our theme was to create a three-dimensional gift. I made a bracelet and earring set using the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set. I was thinking how much these stamps look like ginger bread cookies. How fun would it be to make little shrink cookies?!? When I saw that shrink paper has been a popular media for this adorable, festive stamp set, I couldn't wait to try it!

I used sterling silver clasps and beads and glass crystal beads in red, green, and iridescent clear set among Santa and his reindeer. This bracelet and earring set was fun, easy, and surprisingly quick to make!

First, stamp your image on shrink paper using Stayz On Ink or other ink that is permanent and NOT water soluble. You want an ink that will not smudge or evaporate in the oven. Allow your stamped image to dry for a few minutes. Then color each stamped image using permanent markers. I found that the color will deepen and darken in the oven. So, choose lighter shades.

Allow the markers to dry for a few minutes. Then punch out each stamped image. Then punch a 1/8" hole at the top of Santa's hat and at the top of one of the reindeer's antlers.

Place your cuties on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake accordingly to the shrink paper's manufacturer's directions. Don't leave your oven. These guys took less than 2 minutes to shrink.  It is fun to watch them shrink too!

With needle-nosed pliers, add jump rings to each of the Santas and the reindeer. Cut your beading wire. Add one part of the clasp and crimp bead to one end of the beading wire. Thread your beads. Add your other part of the clasp and crimp bead. Thread the beading wire back through a few beads. Crimp the crimp bead. Cut the excess beading wire. Viola! Your bracelet is finished and ready to wear!

To make the earrings, cut a length of beading wire. Place a Santa in the center of the beading wire. Fold the wire in half. You will thread the beads and earring finding to BOTH strands of the beading wire. Add a small silver bead, a green glass bead, another small silver bead, a crimp bead, and an earring finding. Then thread the beading wire back through the crimp bead and the small silver bead. Crimp the crimp bead. Cut the excess beading wire.

How cute are these earrings?! I made this set plus many more in one morning. It will take you much less time to make just one set. I bet you could make both the bracelet and earrings in the morning and wear them to a party at night!

Have you tried using stamps on shrink paper? What other stamps would you try? I would love to see what you make!

Thanks for stopping by!
