The secret recipe is out!!

Today I revealed my secret recipe for lip balm to a great group of stampers! My family has been asking me for this recipe for years. Now the secret recipe is out!

We had a fabulous afternoon of stamping and making our own lip balm!

Craft with Beth: lip balm ingredients

As the oils and butters were melting, we made gift packaging using the Lots of Labels Framelits, the Simply Scored Board, and the Big Shot.

The first and last mini lip balm boxes were made using the instructions from amazing Sam Hammond. I changed the Designer Series Paper as well as the ribbon and the sentiment.

I love the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper! This pattern looks like the ocean and the sand one way (the blue, tranquil tide, and peach stripes) and the mountains another (the fig and white stripes). The Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon is stunning!

It is not too early to start getting ready for Christmas! What a great stocking stuffer!

I designed this sweet lip balm holder. I used the Lots of Labels Framelits to create the holder cover and paired it with Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set.

I also designed this Watercolor Wings and Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper lip balm holder. For the butterfly, I used Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, and Melon Mambo, respectively.

For the book style holder, I followed instructions from Jill Franchett. I changed the stamp sets and embellishments. I used the Happy Birthday Gorgeous and the Birthday Blooms stamp sets and the Daffodil Delight Double-Stitched Ribbon.

Can you tell Happy Birthday Gorgeous is one of my top favorite new stamp set from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog?! This is the first stamp set I think of when starting new projects.

The lip balm tray comes from SKS Bottling. We used the 0.15 ounce lip balm containers.

After the lip balm solidified, we wrapped the tubes with corresponding Designer Series Paper. Who wouldn't want to get these cute lip balm holders and homemade lip balm using all natural ingredients!?! I sure do!

I have a few more lip balm holders to make up for and deliver to family and friends who have been waiting patiently for the next batch!

The Little Moments Emboss Resist

The emboss resist technique is a gorgeous way to highlight the large mosaic image in the Moroccan Nights stamp set! The Rich Razzleberry sponged background really makes the mosaic tiles POP!

Craft with Beth: Moroccan Nights Emboss Resist Thinking of You Card Stampin' Up!

I started with a 4" by 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White. I stamped the large mosaic image using Versamark ink randomly and embossed with clear embossing powder. Next I sponged Rich Razzleberry all over the cardstock. I did a combination of swiping and pouncing to create a varied texture. After sponging, I wiped the embossed mosaic images with a tissue to remove any excess ink.

I used the 2-1/2", 2", and 1-1/2" scalloped squares from the new Layering Squares Framelits to make a little frame around the The Little Moments sentiment. Gold 1/4" trim is wrapped around two corners to add interest and sparkle. The gold enamel circles further enhance the richness of this sweet thinking of you card.

I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up the the longer mosaic image on the inside of the card. I used Rich Razzleberry and Night of Navy ink pads.

I hope you give this technique a try! I would love to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!
