Sometimes the image stickers for clear-mount stamps need assistance staying attached to the clear acrylic blocks. I am sure you have heard of work arounds such as lip balm, snail adhesive, and the two-way glue pen. Or, you may have even stopped applying the stickers all together. Well, no more! Stampin' Up! has heard our cries and improved their image stickers.
Starting with the 2019 Occasions and the 2019 Sale-A-Bration catalogs, Stampin' Up! will begin introducing a new red, rubber stamp called Cling Stamps. They are the same clear-mount, rubber stamps we all know and love but will have an improved image sticker.
The image sticker is sticky on both sides. One side of the sticker will stick to the foam side of the stamp. The other side of the sticker will adhere to the clear acrylic block.
I must admit, I have stopped putting the image stickers on my stamps. However, I don't like guessing what, where, in what direction, etc. I am stamping. I check before I turn the stamp over, but I like the reassurance the image sticker gives.
So, when we used the new cling stamps at OnStage Orlando, I was very pleased with the image sticker improvements.
The stickers are easy to apply and incredibly sticky. Once the stickers are on the stamp, they are on for good. But, the side of the sticker that adheres to the clear acrylic block is reposition-able. They attach to the clear acrylic blocks nicely and consistently through out the card making process. They don't fall off the clear acrylic blocks either whether you shake them or drop them.
When you are ready to remove the stamp from the clear acrylic block, be sure to peel all of the layers of the stamp (the sticker, the foam, and the rubber) carefully off of the clear acrylic block when finished stamping with it to avoid tearing the foam.
To clean your Cling Stamps, use Stampin' Mist, water, or a very mild detergent. Don't use Stayz On Cleaner because this is an alcohol-based cleaner and can dry out the sticker's stickiness. Don't use cleaning wipes because they can leave fibers behind, and many are also alcohol-based.
As each catalog debuts the new stamps will be offered in Cling Stamps or Photopolymer Stamps. Stampin' Up! is also phasing out Wood-Mount stamps. With the exception of some background stamps, Wood-Mount stamps will no longer be offered starting with the 2019 Occasions and the 2019 Sale-A-Bration catalogs.
