Make your Thanksgiving Extra Special with these Festive Treat Boxes

Today's Thanksgiving treat boxes were inspired by a project shared by fellow demonstrator Julie DeMatteo. Julie shared a treat box that she modified from fellow demonstrator Katja Hamann. Julie resized Katja's original box to fit a Reese's peanut butter egg. I am using Julie's resized box measurements for my Thanksgiving treat box.

I enjoy creating and making different shaped treat holders. When I saw both Julie's and Katja's boxes, I thought that the shape and construction was very intriguing. I had to try it!

I made two treat boxes right away! I decorated both treat boxes with the leaves stamp from the Painted Pheasant stamp set and Rich Razzleberry ink.

I die cut the small label from the Seasonal Dies and a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. The Happy Thanksgiving greeting is stamped in the center with Rich Razzleberry ink. The grassy reeds are stamped with Crumb Cake ink with full strength ink and stamped off strength ink.

On one of the boxes I wrapped linen thread and added a box to the top of the greeting. On the other box I added 3 amber gems to the right of the greeting and the grassy reeds.

• Treat Holder Base: 6-1/4" x 5-3/8"; scored on the 6-1/4" side at 5/8", 1-5/8", 4-5/8"; scored on the 5-3/8" side at 3/4", 2-1/2", 3-1/4", and 5"; scored on the 5-3/8" side only down to the 1st horizontal score line at 3/8" and 2-7/8" (flip the cardstock to score on the opposite side)

4-in-1 Aromatherapy Inhaler Gift Box

Happy International Essential Oil Day! This international day for essential oils was started in 2018 by Jared Turner the then COO of an essential oil company to celebrate the founder's birthday.

Today I am sharing an aromatherapy inhaler gift box. I love to make different aromatherapy blends for myself, my family, and my friends. I store my most frequently used blends in 15 ml stock bottles. I also add my blends to aromatherapy inhalers, glass and metal roller ball bottles, and to my lip balms and lotions. 

 
So when my mom asked me to make one of her friends an aromatherapy inhaler, I jumped at the chance to make a new blend for her friend. This is her friend's first time using an aromatherapy inhaler. The shape of the aromatherapy inhaler is a little unusual if you have never seen it before, so I created a little gift box for it.

Not only is the gift box a cute way to give an aromatherapy inhaler, but the box also protects the aromatherapy inhaler from dust and dirt.

 
An aromatherapy inhaler is a small tube with holes on the end. Essential oils are applied to a cotton wick and inserted into one end of the tube. Then a cap is placed on the end of the tube to hold the cotton wick inside. Next, a cover is added to the tube to protect it from getting dirty.

To use it, remove the cover and inhale slowly from the end with the holes with one nostril and then repeat on the other nostril. The inhaler comes very close to your nose, so once you use an aromatherapy inhaler that becomes your personal aromatherapy inhaler. 

 

Aromatherapy inhalers can be plastic, metal, or glass. For today's project, I am using a plastic aromatherapy inhaler. All of the gift box's measurements are based on a plastic aromatherapy inhaler.

Although aromatherapy inhalers can last a long time, they can lose their scent over time. When the cotton wick needs a refresh, carefully remove the cap, take out the wick, and add more essential oils to the wick. Then put the wick back inside tube and replace the cap. You can also use a new wick instead of refreshing the old one.

 
Aromatherapy inhalers can be refreshed using single essential oils or a blend of essential oils. You can swirl the wick in a small bowl with essential oils or drop the essential oil(s) from a bottle directly onto the wick. Making a small 15 ml stock bottle of the inhaler blend would also make a nice pairing with the aromatherapy inhaler.

 

 
Once I made the inhaler gift box, I realized the shape of the box could easily be changed to fit a 15 ml stock bottle, a roller ball bottle, and a lip balm tube! I modified the height and the width of the original inhaler box to make boxes for each of the other 3 containers, making 4 boxes from 1 one box shape.

Sweet Treat Peppermint Chocolate Covered Cookies Gift Box

One of my sweet friends purchased a gift certificate from me to give as a Christmas present. As a thank you, I made her a festive gift box filled with chocolate covered sandwich cookies sprinkled with peppermint pieces wrapped with Real Red ruched ribbon. Don't they look delectable!? The cookies almost didn't make it into the box!

I used the Tiny Treat Boxes made from clear acetate as the base for my gift box. The cookies are from Trader Joe's. The ruched ribbon makes everything look divine and that much more special! I would want to receive this as a gift!

The label die and stamps come from the Tiny Keepsakes Bundle (Item #152390). Sadly, the stamp set in this Bundle, Tiny Keepsakes, is retiring. This is one of my favorite Bundles in the 2019 Holiday Catalog! The stamps have great plaid and striped background stamps, a snowflake stamp, and greeting stamps that fit perfectly inside of the label shaped dies in the Mini Curvy Keepsake die set.
