Paper Pumpkin: March 2016 Kit and Alternatives

My Paper Pumpkin kit arrived a few days ago. I have been working on putting it together and creating alternative projects. The name of this month's kit is Pocket Full of Cheer! It certainly is! Let me just say that I wish the flower printed gift card holders were sold as full sheets of DSP!! I love this month's color scheme of Whisper White, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and Cucumber Crush! Spring is finally here!

I came up with three alternative projects and CASED two alternative projects. The first alternative project is a birthday card. The base is a 5.5" x 8.5" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock folded in half. I cut the pre-printed card base from the kit down to 3.75" x 5". The center motif is made from three pieces layered together. The center of the motif is the pre-printed square with a Cucumber Crushed dotted outline on point. I stamped Happy Happy in the center with Bermuda Bay ink. This is adhered with dimensionals to a 2.5" x 2.5" square of the flower printed gift card holder. The final layer is a 2.75" x 2.75" square of Whisper White cardstock embossing with the Chevron Texturized Embossing Folder (TIEF). Underneath the center motif is a Bermuda Bay Polka Dotted small banner that came pre-printed in the kit.

On the inside, I added a 4" x 5.25" piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped a row of Bermuda Bay flowers along the bottom.

The second alternative project is a springtime card.

The base is a 5.5" x 8.5" piece of Cucumber Crush cardstock folded in half and embossed with the Butterflies TIEF. The rectangular piece of made of a 2.25" x 5.25" piece of Pool Party cardstock and a 2" x 5" piece of the flower printed gift card holder. I tied a simple knot bow around the flower rectangle before adhering it to the Pool Party rectangle. The sentiment tag is made from the smallest tag in the Tags and Labels Framelit collection. The sentiment Just for You is stamped in Cucumber Crush. I used dimensionals to adhere the tag just below the ribbon. I left the inside blank for now.

The third alternative project layout is based on a sketch challenge from Retro sketches #57. I thought it was another perfect way to feature the flower preprinted gift card holder. The base is a 5.5" x 8.5" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock folded in half. The flower preprinted gift card holder paper squares are 1" x 1". The Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and Cucumber Crush rectangles are 1" x 1.5" and embossed with the Mosaics TIEF. The sentiment underneath is from February 2016's Paper Pumpkin kit. I stamped thank you in Bermuda Bay and punched it out with the Washi Tape Punch. Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine wraps around the bottom of the cardstock quilt. On the inside, I added a 4" x 5.25" piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped You're the Best from last year's Sale-A-Bration catalog.

The first project I CASED is from Loni Spendlove. She created a stunning birthday card! I love the way Loni created her own DSP using the Happy Happy and the balloon stamp on the pre-printed card base. The balloons are from Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay, and Silver Glitter cardstock and punched using the Balloon Bouquet punch.

The second project I CASED is from Nora Marin. You can really see how beautiful the flower pre-printed gift holder card paper really is with this card! The stamp is from the Hostess set A Whole Lot of Lovely. This sweet stamp set is retiring this year.

I hope you enjoyed March's Paper Pumpkin kit and alternative projects. I would love to see what you create as well!

I appreciate you stopping by!

Easter Chick Card

This sweet Easter chick card uses the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set and the Easter Lamb stamp. The base is Tempting Turquoise card stock. I stamped the chick onto Shimmery White card stock in Crushed Curry and brushed Daffodil Delight ink and Tangerine Tango ink using the aquapainter.

The egg is cut from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack (DSP) with an oval framelit and the decorative scallop die from the Cups and Kettles framelit set.

The inside is stamped with the Easter sentiment from Suite Sayings stamp set. This font is so pretty!

Easter Baker's Box

This Easter treat box uses Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Design Team's Cindy Schuster's Speckled Egg Technique. This is such a fun technique that I wanted to create something to highlight it again! Who wouldn't want to get some Easter candy in this fab box?!?! The base is made using the Baker's Box Thinlits dies and Very Vanilla cardstock.

Craft with Beth: Easter Egg Baker's Treat Box Stampin' Up!

The grass was made from a 1-inch strip of Wild Wasabi cardstock and snipped with the Fringe Scissors (psst..they are amazing and on sale until the end of today).

The Happy Easter greeting comes from the Easter Lamb stamp. I love this little guy! I stamped Happy Easter on Very Vanilla cardstock by masking the lamb with a sticky note and inking the greeting only. You could also use a Stampin' Write Marker to color just the greeting. I used the Triple Banner Punch to shape the banner ends. The backing banner is Pool Party.

The box is closed with Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Ribbon bow. This ribbon is retiring this year. Embellishments using the In Colors (new or old) are retired each year. If you love this ribbon as much as I do, I would order it sooner rather than later. I do not want you to miss out!

Craft with Beth: Easter Egg Baker's Treat Box Stampin' Up!

I used Pool Party ink and Crumb Cake ink for the eggs and Early Espresso ink and Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for the speckles. The Pool Party was stamped with full ink coverage. The Crumb Cake was stamped off first.

I hope you try making this fab treat box! I would love to see what you make using this fantastic technique!

I appreciate you stopping by!
