2018 April OnStage Display Boards

It was amazing to see the new products at OnStage in Atlanta! Between Make and Takes and skill building, I snapped a few photos of the new product display boards.

The Delightfully Detailed Product sweet is just as it sounds delightful and detailed. The Specialty Designer Series Paper is laser-cut lace! I love the watercolor wash notecards and ribbons.

The Petal Promenade Product Suite reminds me of vintage florals.Shelli showed us how to use sponges to create an aged look on the Designer Series Paper that was gorgeous!

Here is the Share What You Love Product Suite that is an early release for the month of May. The designer series paper is on my all-time favorite designer series paper lists! I especially love the Statement of My Heart stamp set, which features Stampin' Up!'s heartfelt motto!

The Garden Impressions Product Suite is at the top of my list order list! I love the bright, bold floral designer series paper, the thinlits, the rose embellishments, and the stamp set (not shown)!

I was saddened when Botanical Blooms retired a few years ago, but I am excited to see a fresh, new tropical leaf set! I like the color palette of the designer series paper too (Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, and Whisper White).

In Atlanta, we received the Animal Outing stamp set from the Animal Expedition Product Suite in our goodie bags. This super cute animal suite will be great for kids and adults alike. Check out the thinlits! They cut out not only the stamps but a leafy vine and giraffe spots!

The Tea Room Product Suite is second on my must order list. In fact, this product suite is the inspiration for June 16th's Catalog Launch Party. We will have an afternoon tea with make and takes, games, prizes, and more. Mark your calendar!

These are some of the new embossing folders and edgelit thinlit dies. I LOVE the details on the edgelits! The upper right embossing folder, called Subtle, is difficult to see the texture in the photograph and in the catalog. It is a soft almost grasscloth texture. I think the Subtle embossing folder will add a subtle, elegant touch to any card!

Above is the new tin kit. It comes with two Stampin' Spots, a clear block, an exclusive stamp set, and an exclusive punch! The tin is gorgeous with the navy and gold!

There is are new collections of Memories and More card sets. Memories and More can be used for scrap booking and for card making.

Here are some of the new bundles that will be offered in the new Annual Catalog. We all received the bottom stamp set Pick a Pennant stamp set as an all-attendee prize. This set is right up my alley! You know I love banners! The stamp set also includes alphabet stamps to personalize your banners.

Tranquil Textures is a great masculine product suite! The paper is divine! I am looking forward to playing with this suite!

Graceful Glass is a product suite centered around stained glass windows. The font on the stamp set reminds me of the Gothic style of calligraphy. The vellum designer series paper and the thinlit dies are unbelievably intricate and gorgeous!

The Nature's Poem is another great masculine product suite! It is also pairs well with the Lovely As A Tree stamp set. This product suite was number three on my must have list.

Sometimes it can be difficult to see the entire sheet of designer series paper in the catalog. So, it is fantastic to get an in person look! This designer series paper is more of a traditional, classic style that is sure to be a favorite this Christmas! It's on my list for sure!

Broadway bound is one of the new birthday product suites. The designer series paper is filled with classic birthday and celebration images, including cake, candles, hats, and birthdays as well as geometric designs that can be for all occasions.

The Twinkle, Twinkle product suite is adorable for babies and little ones, but it also has some greetings suited for anniversaries, such as the "I love you more than the stars" greeting stamp. The designer series paper has softer colors mixed with Night of Navy and tans, making this paper stack perfect for both boys and girls.

Best Route is fabulous for graduation, college students, and life's milestones. It would also be great for a travel journal or scrap book. The enamel shapes are little destination bubbles like the ones you see on Google Maps(r). So cute!

I am overjoyed that Stampin' Up! has a calligraphy kit! I see diy calligraphy sets all over the internet and in craft stores. So, I am glad to see one in the new Annual Catalog.

 Here are the 2018-2020 In Colors! Woohoo! I look forward to the reveal of the new In Colors each OnStage. This year's colors are Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel. They are more primary colors. At first, I wasn't sure I like them, but after seeing all of the new colors, returning colors, and current colors, I really think they fit well! Right now Grapefruit Grove is my favorite!

This display board shows some of the new ink choices and ink pads. There will be more Stampin' Blends debuting. The ink pad in the upper right of the above photo shows the new ink pad style. It is easier to open, solves a few problems that the old ink pads had, and comes with more color labels. The uninked ink pad in the upper left of the above photo is a blank striped ink pad. You can make your own custom, striped ink pad! It could be ombre, rainbow, gradient, your favorite sport's team colors - you name it. Basic Black Embossing Powder is returning in June!

Here are some more bundles that will be offered in the new Annual Catalog. There will be many more punches, framelit sets, and thinlit sets that will pair with stamp sets to help cut out and embellish your projects. This will make creating easier and less stressful fussy cutting! Woohoo!

If you look closely at the right corner below April's Paper Pumpkin, you will see a sneak peak of June's Paper Pumpkin. It looks like Crumb Cake cardstock and a Father's Day greeting.

The first Make and Take uses the Graceful Glass product suite. We used some of the new Stampin' Blends to color in the embossed vellum.

Here is the Nature's Poem product suite in better focus. I love old fashioned botanical prints, leaf imprints, slices of tree trunks, and dried flowers, so I was thrilled to see this product suite! I loved it so much, I overnighted my pre-order just so I could create with these products!

Our third Make and Take really shows off the laser-cut lace Specialty Designer Series Paper!

Our fourth Make and Take features the Share What You Love product suite. The designer series paper is so spectacular that I ordered 2 packs and am thinking I will need at least 2 more!

Create Your Own Plaid with Washi Tape

Have you ever noticed that the Tutti-Frutti Washi Tape looks like fruit? The Daffodil Delight with the white v's washi tape looks like pineapple. The Real Red washi tape could be a strawberry. Both the Garden Green and the Lemon Lime Twist washi tapes could be the top of the pineapple. The Lime Lemon Twist could be a pear. The purple could be the stem of the pear or a grape.

Since I am continuing my washi tape goals from 2017 through 2018, I thought how could I incorporate this realization into my projects. Then the idea hit me, why not pair the coordinating washi tape colors to make plaid stripes!

My first design uses the Daffodil Delight and the Lemon Lime Twist washi tape rolls. I cut a 4" x 2-5/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock and centered it on my Grid Paper. I started with the Daffodil Delight washi tape roll first. I started in one corner and adhered the washi tape in diagonal stripes across the cardstock, using the grid squares as a guide.

To keep my stripes evenly spaced, I adhered washi tape every third square. Once the Daffodil Delight washi tape had covered the cardstock, I adhered the Lemon Lime Twist washi tape in diagonal stripes going the opposite way.

After all of the washi tape was adhered, I carefully peeled the cardstock away from the Grid Paper and snipped the excess washi tape with my paper snips.

Tutti-Frutti Washi Tape has tapes of different widths just like some plaid designs. My second design adds the Real Red and the Garden Green narrower washi tape rolls between the Daffodil Delight and the Lemon Lime Twist stripes.

Here are some additional plaid samples I played with. I recommend doing a search for plaid designs and samples for starting inspiration.

I am saddened that the Fruit Basket Product Suite is retiring. It is fun, cute, and summery! It is a great way to try new color combinations too. Try stamping the pineapple in different yellows and greens to see which ones you like the best.

Plus, it is my four-year old niece's favorite stamp and punch set. Her little hands can easily use both the stamps and the punches quite well. She loves punching strawberries out of glitter paper! My niece even knows how to use the Stampin' Scrub and frequently tells us to use the correct sides to clean our stamps. She is too sweet!
