I am working on some treats for handing out at OnStage on April 13th. I picked up a “few” bags of spring and Easter candy over the weekend. I tried to tell the checkout cashier that it wasn’t all for me, but I don’t think she quite believed me.
When I make a large batch of treat holders, I like to gather and prepare all of my materials beforehand like I do for my mise en place in cooking and in baking. Getting everything ready to craft makes projects less stressful. I know where everything is, I cut the right amounts of cardstock, and I can create without interruption.
I first counted all of the chocolate squares in the packages - 53. There are 3 colors of foil wrapped chocolate squares - purple, blue, and yellow. I wrote down the number of each color of the foil wrappers that were in the packages. I chose which color of foil would pair with which colors of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper circles and wrote that down. I chose a coordinating color for the Classic Label and wrote that down.
Next I punched the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper circles using a 2" Circle Punch. I punched circles according to the number written by each foil wrapper color. Then I punched the same number of the solid cardstock using the Starburst Punch.
Then I glued the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper Circles to the center of the Starbursts.
Next I punched out Classic Labels in coordinating colors and stamped then with the "Easter Blessings" sentiment stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added mini dimensionals to the backs of each of the Classic Labels.
Lastly, I adhered the chocolate squares to the gingham circles with glue dots(r), added the Classic Labels, and placed pearls on both ends of the Classic Labels.
OnStage is the name of Stampin' Up!'s demonstrators only convention where new products and techniques are shown for the upcoming catalog. Twice a year demonstrators can attend OnStage to see, experience, and preorder the new products, so we can prepare for classes, workshops, retreat days, etc.
The few months before OnStage, the excitement builds! I look forward to seeing my demonstrator friends that don’t live locally as well as spending time with my demonstrator team the Purrfect Stampers. April’s OnStage is focusing on the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, which also includes the new 2019-2021 In Color collection! Stamping with, hanging out, and laughing with my friends and my team is my favorite part of OnStage. My second favorite part of OnStage is seeing the new products, especially the In Colors. It is a surprise that I really enjoy.
I love seeing what is new, building my stamping skills, and hearing what other demonstrators are making and doing. I come back refreshed and full of ideas! I can’t wait to see what is in store this April!
