How to Get Your Loved One to Give You More Stamping Goodies!

Craft with Beth Wish List Program Title Graphic Banner

It happens all the time! Your birthday comes around, you unwrap your birthday presents, and there are no new stamping supplies! You love your family and friends, but you secretly yearn for a Balmy Blue ink refill and that gorgeous new Snowflake Splendor Product Suite!

How do you let your family and friends know that, while you greatly appreciate their thoughtfulness, that there is something more that you want for your birthday?

Your family and friends may not always know what to give your for your birthday. Your family and friends know that you love to create beautiful cards and home decor projects, but they are overwhelmed by all of the products in the Stampin' Up! catalogs. There are so many gorgeous products to choose from! They don't know what you want, what you may already have, or what you like.

Let's take the mystery out of gift-giving to their favorite stamper - you!

I am introducing a new, fantastic program to help spread the word on what to give you for your birthday, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, and more! It is free, and I am calling it the Wish List Program

The Wish List Program is designed to communicate to your family and friends exactly what type of presents that you want – which, of course, is all of the stamps, dies, embossing folders, designer series paper, ribbons, and more from Stampin’ Up! I am looking out for you!

Here’s how it works.

  1. Download the Wish List.
  2. You can type right onto the Wish List, or you can print it out.
  3. Fill in the Wish List with currently for sale stamping goodies that you want. Be sure to include a gift certificate amount at the bottom of the Wish List too!
  4. Then, on the second page, fill in the information about whom you want me to send a copy of your Wish List to. Please, tell them that you are sharing their contact information with me, so that they are not surprised when they get an email from me.
  5. Scan and attach your completed Wish List to an email to me craftwithbeth@gmail. com with the subject line Wish List Program. If you don’t have a scanner, you can take a photo of your Wish List (both pages) and email it to me or send me your Wish List by postal mail.
  6. I will then send an email with your Wish List to your listed loved ones.
  7. I will follow up with your listed loved ones to see what they would like to purchase for you from your Wish List.
  8. Your loved ones can place an order from your Wish List.
  9. Your loved ones can also purchase a gift certificate from me in the amount that you listed on your Wish List.

VoilĂ ! Your loved ones know exactly what to gift you! It takes the stress off of you as well as your loved ones. And, it makes your loved ones feel like they have given you THE BEST present ever – which we all know that they did!!

Second Sunday Sketches #20 Starts Right NOW!

Craft with Beth Second Sunday Sketches graphic title graphic banner card sketch challenge with measurements

It is time for another Second Sunday Sketches challenge! If you are new to Second Sunday Sketches, please review the rules here or below. Each second Sunday of the month, I will post a card sketch. A sketch is graphic or drawing of how the elements of a card are layed out.

Craft with Beth: Stampin' Up! Second Sunday Sketches sketch card sketch challenge sample graphic

You will then use the sketch as a guide to create your own card. Your card must be a new creation and reflect the challenge guidelines. Your card must include the major elements of the card sketch, such as the number of layers and the general position of the embellishments and/or die cuts. You can rotate the sketch for a top-folding card or for a side-folding card.

You choose the occasion and the color palette as well as the stamp set(s) and the embellishments. I do ask that you use Stampin' Up! products (current or retired).

The measurements will also be included in the blog post for each Second Sunday Sketches sketch challenge. You can use the measurements as given or increase them or decrease them. For example, if a greeting is stamped on a 1" circle on the sketch, but the greeting you choose is 1-3/4", then increase the size of the circle to 1-3/4". You can also change the shape. Instead of a circle, you can use an oval, a square, a daisy punch, etc.

The challenge will run from the second Sunday of the month until the last day of that month.

Below is December's card sketch.

Craft with Beth: Stampin' Up! Second Sunday Sketches card sketch challenge graphic #20 December 2020 with measurements

Challenge Dates

December's challenge will run from December 13th, 2020 until December 31st, 2020 at 5pm EST.

If you would like to participate in the Second Sunday Sketches sketch challenge, please create a card using the sketch above and email me a photo of your card by December 31st, 2020 at 5pm EST to craftwithbeth@gmail .com with the subject line Second Sunday Sketches Entry.

Prize Drawing

The day after the last day of the month (January1st), I will place all of the names of the participants in a proverbial hat and randomly draw a winner. The winner will receive a prize! The prize each month will change and will be announced at the start of each challenge. December's Second Sunday Sketches sketch challenge prize is Item #154578 Resin Hearts and three hand-made cards from me.

Craft with Beth: Stampin' Up! #154578 Resin Hearts December 2020 Second Sunday Sketches #19 card challenge sketch challenge prize graphic

Winner Announcement

If you are the winner, I will notify you by email. Please respond to my email with your complete mailing address, and I will mail you your prize! If the winner does not respond to my email within 7 days, I will draw another winner.

I will also post all of the entries on my blog (with your names attached to the photos) and the name of the winner.

Some Ideas on How to Make this Card Sketch Your Own

There are many ways to change this card to make it your own! You can rotate the card layout 90 degrees, move the small gray rectangle to the middle or to the right side of the card front, add a shape to the center rectangle such as a star or label die cut, use embossing folders to add more texture to a mat layer, and more!

Share Second Sunday Sketches with a Friend

Be sure to join in on the fun and share with a friend! If you enter the Second Sunday Sketches challenge, you can get a bonus surprise prize by sharing this challenge with a friend (for US residents only)! Here's how to get a bonus surprise prize. Limit two bonus surprise prizes per person per month.
  1. Enter into this month's Second Sunday Sketches challenge
  2. Share this month's Second Sunday Sketches challenge with a friend (that hasn't participated before)
  3. Have your friend submit their this month's challenge card entry
  4. Email me that your friend has submitted their card entry. Submit your complete mailing address and the name of the friend that you shared with. I will confirm their entry and then send you a bonus surprise prize.

I am looking forward to seeing your personal take on the 20th Second Sunday Sketches sketch challenge! If you have any questions about this card sketch challenge, please let me know! I am happy to assist!

Happy Stamping!

Whisper White is Retiring. What does this mean for us?

What happened?

Stampin' Up! announced today that, sadly, Whisper White is retiring. Whisper White cardstock, Thick Whisper White cardstock, and Whisper White Medium Envelopes are every day staples in our craft room. Unfortunately, the paper mill that produces the Whisper White cardstock, note cards, and envelopes has permanently closed because of the COVD-19 pandemic. When I read the announcement, my heart saddened for a craft room staple but mostly for the paper mill closing and the loss of livelihoods.

Stampin' Up! has very little notice that the paper mill was closing, and the unique technology that this paper mill used is no longer available to produce the Whisper White cardstock and related products. There was no way to replenish the stock of Whisper White products.

Stampin' Up! jumped right in and worked hard to find a new supplier that can produce the best cardstock, note card, and envelope to replace Whisper White. They tested each of the replacement products thoroughly! Stampin' Up! is confident in the quality of the new white cardstock, notecards, and envelopes.

The name of the white cardstock and related products will transition to a new name - Basic White.

What does that mean right now?

With Whisper White going out of production, a number of products will be affected. Below is a list of Whisper White products that will be going out of production and stock will not be replenished once it sells out.

  • #100730 Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock, pages 143 and 153, $9.75, limit of 2 per order
  • #140272 Whisper White 8-1/2" x 11" Thick Cardstock, page 153, $8.25, limit of 2 per order
  • #124302 Whisper White 12" x 12" Cardstock, page 153, $7.75, limit of 2 per order
  • #107301 Whisper White Medium Envelopes, page 153, $7.50, limit of 2 per order
  • #131527 Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes, page 153, $7.00, limit of 2 per order-
  • #145829 Whisper White 3" x 3" Envelopes, page 153, $10.00, limit of 2 per order
  • #149710 Assorted Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, page 154, $10.50, limit of 2 per order

In the meantime, Whisper White products are still available while supplies last. In order to make sure that everyone has the chance to purchase the Whisper White products that they need before they sell out and before the new Basic White products are available, Stampin' Up! is limiting the purchase of these items to 2 per item per order

The quickest way to see if these products are still available is to check my online store.

What does that mean in the near future?

Basic White products are coming to the Stampin' Up! warehouse. There hasn't been a date announced yet.  All of the Whisper White products listed above will be available in the new Basic White as soon as they are in stock. The new Basic White products, item numbers, and prices are:

  • #159276 Basic White 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock, $9.75
  • #159229 Basic White 8-1/2" x 11" Thick Cardstock, $8.25
  • #159231 Basic White 12" x 12" Cardstock, $7.75
  • #159236 Basic White Medium Envelopes, $7.50
  • #159232 Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes, $7.00
  • #159233 Basic White 3" x 3" Envelopes, $10.00
  • #159234 Basic White Assorted Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, $10.50

  • It very is possible that some Whisper White products may sell out before the new Basic White equivalents are available.
  • There may be a period where both Whisper White and Basic White products are available.
  • There may be a period where no Whisper White or Basic White products are available. Stampin' Up! is working hard to lessen this potential and the gap between product changes.
  • This change only affects Whisper White cardstock and related Whisper White products. It doesn't have an affect on any other cardstock or related product.

Below is a video from Stampin' Up! sharing the new Basic White cardstock. The video does not confirm that the GSM of the cardstock. I am hoping that we will find out more information as the new Basic White products become available.

Basic White products are not listed in the PRINTED versions of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog and in the 2021 January-June Mini Catalog. They will be listed on Stampin' Up!'s online store. Below are graphic links to the Basic White product information to print as a reference guide while these products are not listed in a printed catalog.

The graphic on the left has a blue-green background, and the graphic on the right has no background color. The information is the same on both flyers. The one on the right uses less printer ink.

I feel confident that Stampin' Up! is doing their best job trying to provide quality stamping and papercrafting products to us. I look forward to the transition to the new cardstock, notecards, and envelopes. I am happy to answer your questions to the best of my ability and with the limited information that I have.

The Year End Closeout Sale Starts Today!

Year End Closeout Sale Banner Graphic 2020

If you love great deals, Stampin' Up!'s Giant Year-End Closeout event is the perfect time to shop. You’ll get deep discounts on your favorite products from the August–December 2020 Mini Catalog—and as an extra bonus—you’ll get a peek at the list of items carrying over to the new annual catalog.

Below are the three lists that will help us navigate the Year-End Closeout Sale. The first list contains the products that are retiring from the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog. Some of these retiring products are on sale and some are not. The second list contains the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog products that are carrying over into the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. The third list contains the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog products that are going into "hibernation" and will return for the 2021 July-December Mini Catalog.

Check out the 2020 August-December Mini Catalog Lists

 Year End Closeout Sale Tips

  • I recommend that you print the three lists above.
  • Read through all three lists carefully. There is a lot of information and tons of symbols marking which products are retiring and which are not!
  • Print out a Wish List and record your shopping list!
  • All bundles are retiring whether the individual products are retiring or not. This is the most confusing part of this sale. For example, the Poinsettia Petals Bundle is retiring, but the individual products - the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and the Poinsettia Dies are carrying over into the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. The bundled savings are not carrying over, but the stamp set and the die set are carrying over.
  • I recommend marking your 2020 August-December Catalog with what is retiring, what is carrying over into the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, and what is returning in the 2021 July-December Mini Catalog. I do this in my own catalogs. There is so much that is retiring, that it is difficult to keep it all organized.

Last week, I said that I would share a few of my favorite retiring products, and I have to say that I am surprised that many of my favorite stamps sets are on the retiring list! Here are two of my favorite retiring stamp sets!

Dove of Hope Bundle Graphic

I am so sad that the Dove of Hope Bundle, the Dove of Hope stamp set and the Detailed Dove Dies are retiring! Myself, many of my customers, and many of the demonstrator team members all have both the Dove of Hope stamp set and the Dove Dies. We have been enjoying creating projects with this set. I would consider the Dove of Hope a timeless Christmas staple that could be used for many years. I recommend grabbing the Dove of Hope Bundle while supplies last!

Dove of Hope Bundle Card Samples Graphic

The Warm Hugs Bundle, the Warm Hugs stamp set, and the Mini Coffee Cup Carriers are also retiring. The Mini Coffee Cup Carriers are 50% off! Wow!

However, the Warm Wrap Dies are carrying over into the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I love coffee and hot beverages, so I am truly looking forward to the 2021-2022 Annual to find out if there is new, exciting products the dies might coordinate with! I can't wait to see!

The color combination of Pat's card is truly stunning! The metallic and the Pretty Peacock combined with the angel wings evoke the Christmas spirit! The For Unto Us stamp set's greetings are so meaningful during Christmastime and throughout the year!

Check out the other entries for the 19th Second Sunday Sketch card challenge. I love how Candy's card features a classic stamp set White Christmas and a newer set Snow Front that pair well together. The embossed snow makes this Christmas card extra special! Dawn's card is so cute! Layering die cuts in the center of the card front was a very clever idea. The designer series paper makes this card even more full of winter cheer! Freezin' Friends stamp set is one of my favorite stamp sets from the August-December Mini Catalog, and I am sure it will become a favorite of yours too! Toni's birthday card is fantastic for all ages and genders. The batik designer series paper makes this birthday card a showstopper! Well done, everyone! I am so happy that you are enjoying the Second Sunday Sketches! I look forward to seeing your entries each month!

The NEW Second Sunday Sketches Starts Right Now! Join in on the fun!

Below is November's card sketch.

Happy Fall, Y’all! Baby Wipe Ink Refill Technique

I host Zoom stamping sessions twice a week on most weeks - Monday evening and Friday afternoon. All of my current customers and my demonstrator team members are welcome to join in and stamp with us. Email me for the Zoom meeting information. I would love for you to stamp with us!

During tonight's Zoom stamping session we made cards using the Baby Wipe Technique. The Baby Wipe Technique is a way of creating your own variegated "ink pad" using a baby wipe and ink refills.

Craft with Beth: Baby Wipe Technique fall autumn autumnal card Rooted in Nature Banner Year stamp sets

The Baby Wipe Technique truly lends itself for autumnal colors! I love the deep oranges, reds, browns, yellows, and even purples that fall is so known for! Fall is my absolute favorite season! I think that is why I tend to create with it during the latter half of the year.

Start with a baby wipe and fold it in half or in quarters, depending on how large or small the stamp that you are using is. You want your baby wipe to be about 1/4" or 1/2" larger than the stamp you are using, so that you have plenty of ink coverage. Place the baby wipe on a water-resistant surface such as a folded paper towel or the silicone craft mat to help keep your work surface clean.

Craft with Beth: Baby Wipe Technique fall autumn autumnal card Rooted in Nature Banner Year stamp sets

Choose 3 or 4 different ink refills that coordinate well together - anymore and the color may become muddled. I chose Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Rich Razzleberry ink refills. Start with your lightest ink refill and randomly drop ink onto the baby wipe.

Craft with Beth: Baby Wipe Technique fall autumn autumnal card Rooted in Nature Banner Year stamp sets

Go to your next lightest ink refill and randomly drop ink onto the baby wipe. Spread the ink droplets around the baby wipe.

Then repeat with your darkest ink refill.

Craft with Beth: Baby Wipe Technique fall autumn autumnal card Rooted in Nature Banner Year stamp sets

It is ok to leave some areas of the baby wipe without ink. The more you stamp with this "ink pad", the more the ink droplet starts to fill in and to blend together.

Craft with Beth: Baby Wipe Technique fall autumn autumnal card Rooted in Nature Banner Year stamp sets

Take your stamp and pounce around the baby wipe "ink pad" to fully cover the stamp with ink and stamp onto your cardstock. Is there enough ink on your stamp? Do you like the way the ink refills are blending together? If not, try adding more ink refill to the baby wipe.

Once you are satisfied with your "ink pad," continue stamping your project.

You can stamp several projects with one baby wipe, but add more ink refills to the baby wipe if you notice that the baby wipe is starting to dry out, or as needed.

Craft with Beth: Baby Wipe Technique fall autumn autumnal card Rooted in Nature Banner Year stamp sets

Once you are finished using the baby wipe, you can use the remaining ink to create backgrounds for cards and 3D projects. Simply, scrunch up the baby wipe with the ink facing outwards and swipe across your cardstock. Repeat swiping across the cardstock until it is fully covered with ink. You can also pounce the baby wipe all over your cardstock to create a sponged look.

For the inside of these cards, I stamped the large leaves from Rooted in Nature with Rich Razzleberry ink onto one of the ink-swiped backgrounds and cut it to fit the width of the card base.

This card layout is simple and straightforward to show off the baby wipe ink refill technique and is very easy to customize. You can change the greeting and the leaf stamps to suite any occasion.

The "Happy Thanksgiving" greeting stamp is also included with the Banner Greetings stamp set., but you don't have to limit this technique to only the fall months. Can you imagine how beautiful butterflies or tulips would be with spring colors?!

I hope you give the Baby Wipe Technique a try! What stamp sets and ink refill colors will you use for your card? I would love to see what you create! Post project photo on my Facebook Page or email your project photo. I would love to feature your project photo in one of my upcoming newsletters!

Thanks for stopping by!
