Have a Dino-riffic Day!

In honor of my nephew starting school next week, I made him a little back to school present - a new set of crayons and a few pencils with characters.

Craft with Beth: Have a Dino-riffic Day Pencil Case and Crayon Wrapper Back to School Envelope Punch Board Stampin' Up! No Bones About It

To make the crayon wrapper, I measured the width, height, and depth of the crayon box. I cut a 9" by 3" piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock. Then I made my own Designer Series Paper by stamping the cardstock with the stegosaurus image from the No Bones About It stamp set.

Then I wrapped the cardstock around the crayon box to get an idea of where the score lines should go and scored the cardstock with the Stampin' Trimmer. Measure and score your crayon box to fit.

To make the pencil case, I lined up the pencils and measured the total width and length. Then I cut a 7-5/8" x 7-5/8" piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock. I stamped all of the dinosaurs, some leaves, and the footprints to create more Designer Series Paper. I used the Envelope Punch Board to create the envelope shape. The first cut is at 1-3/4". With each turn, I lined up the previous score line to make the next score line.

The sides of the envelope were too long to fold over, so I cut each side down to 1-3/4" (that was the total width of the pencils).  I used Tear and Tape to close the bottom and side flaps. I used removable adhesive tape to close the top.

The tags were made with the Tags and Labels Framelits, the Botanical Builder Thinlits, and the Triple Banner Punch. This is a cute little gift to help start your school year off!

Hydrangea Thank You

Craft with Beth: Hydrangea Thank You Thoughtful Branches Woodgrain TIEF

The hydrangeas on this thank you card remind me of my own! To create the fullness of the hydrangea, I cut two of the leaves/flower heads in Wisteria Wonder cardstock, stamped both flower heads with Wisteria Wonder ink, and then overlapped the two pieces.

I used two flower heads of the same color but try using two different colors or two different shades of the same color. I bet Soft Sky and Pool Party would look amazing! Or, try Wisteria Wonder with Rich Razzleberry.

After embossing the Sahara Sand cardstock with the Woodgrain TIEF, I swiped White Craft ink with a sponge, giving the wood grain a softer look.

Two Wild Wasabi leaves are stamped in opposite corners on the inside of the card. The matching inside sentiment is stamped in the center. My handwriting is large! So, I like to stamp by sentiments slightly above the center to ensure I have plenty of room to write. Do you do this as well?

What projects have you created with the Thoughtful Branches bundle? I would love to see what you make!

Thanks for stopping by!

You are in Our Thoughts

I created this thinking of you card for my cousin who is leaving for the Marines in a few days.

Craft with Beth: You are in My Thoughts Thoughtful Branches Sympathy Thinking of You Going to Boot Camp Card

My cousin is embarking on an incredibly strenuous, noble, and dangerous journey. While we are nervous, we are all so deeply proud of him! I wanted to start creating a series of cards to send him while he is in boot camp. I wanted to let him we support and love him.

I punched three clouds out of sticky notes with the top of the Tree Builder Punch and placed them randomly on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. The background is sponged with Soft Sky, leaving room for the grass underneath the tree.

I stamped the leaves directly onto the background with Wild Wasabi and then layered with Wild Wasabi leaves. I tied Crushed Curry baker's twine around the tree's trunk and placed a heart at the tree base.

On the inside is stamped the pairing sentiment and a Wild Wasabi leaf. I kept the inside fairly simple with plenty of room for encouraging messages!
