Painter's Palette Sweet and Simple Card

This is a sweet and simple card to show your friend how much you care about them. It can be made in a flash and with one stamp set - Painter's Palette. This card also features the 2016-2018 In Colors. However, you could change the colors to your friend's favorites.

Craft with Beth: Painter's Palette Sweet and Simple Card

The base is a top folding card in Emerald Envy (4-1/4" x 11") with a single matte layer in Whisper White (4" x 5-1/4"). Stamp the easel image in the center. Then stamp the sentiment. Create the paint splatter background by stamping the paint drops image in each of the 2016-2018 In Colors or your favorite colors around the edge of the matte. Adhere the matte to the card base.

The inside has another Whisper White matte (4" x 5-1/4") stamped with the largest paint swoosh in each of the 2016-2018 In Colors in the upper right corner and the a little expression of love sentiment in the center. Adhere the matte to the card base, and your card is finished!

Moroccan Nights Thank You Card

For June's monthly demonstrator's card swap, we were challenged to make a card using a new product from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog. I made a thank you card featuring the new Moroccan Nights stamp set. The medallion image is gorgeous (and coordinates perfectly with the Moroccan Designer Series Paper (DSP))!

Craft with Beth: Moroccan Nights Thank You Card Hello You Thinlits Stampin' Up!

The inspiration for this card came from Simply Made by Wendy. I thought her design was simple and stunning! I kept the layout and measurements the same for my first attempt makering her card using Stampin' Up! products.

However, I felt that there was too much white space above and below the medallions. There was no place for the eye to rest. I also noticed that Wendy's medallion image was larger than the one in the Moroccan Nights stamp set.

For my second attempt, I reduced the width of the Whisper White cardstock. Decreasing the white space above and below the medallion image helped bring my focus into the center of the card. I'm much happier with the second attempt. I also used a thinlit for the sentiment instead of a stamp for a bit of whimsy.

The medallion image is a great way to show off your favorite colors! Here I used So Saffron, Pool Party, and Peekaboo Peach. As the weather gets warmer, I like more vibrant, cheery colors, but I bet this card would be great in deeper, jewel tone colors like Elegant Eggplant and Emerald Envy!

Happy Summer!

The inspiration for this card came from a gorgeous sunset card by Cindy Elam. The layout comes from a weekly challenge sketch. However, I removed the palm tree stamp, the ribbon, and the label tag. I also changed some of the colors, the leaf stamp, the embossing folder, and the embellishment. I added the grouping of Flirty Flamingo flowers and Old Olive leaves to the lower right corner instead of the original tag.

When I saw her card, it reminded me not only of warm Summer days but of the times I spent with my grandmother sitting in Lynch Park watching the sun set over the water. There was something magical about watching the sun sink into the ocean. Every night the colors of the sky and water change. No two sunsets were alike. Some were more purple and some more pink and orange.

I highlighted a more pink and orange sunset for this card. The main colors are Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White, Peekaboo Peach, Early Espresso, and Old Olive.

I used an aquapainter on Shimmery White cardstock to watercolor the sunset scene. The sand is Crumb Cake. The water is Island Indigo and Tempting Turquoise. The sky is Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, and Pool Party.

The inside is stamped with the border image in Old Olive ink. I made this card as a blank note card. However, a banner with a sentiment such as thank you, thinking of you, or happy retirement on the front tucked under the flowers would be really cute as well.
