The Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper is one of my most used Designer Series Paper packs from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. And, with good reason! The bird and floral motifs are bright, cheery, and colorful! It is hard to choose only one design! With this card, you can choose 5!

You can turn your Designer Series Paper into gift-able boxes for all occasions! This gable box is made from the Mossy Meadow and Whisper White striped patterned paper from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper pack.

You can also use individual motifs or sections of the patterned paper to create embellishments. The magnolia blossoms are die cut from the Designer Series Paper using the Magnolia Memory Dies to create a frame around the cork greeting tag. No fussy cutting required!

Paper Pumpkin: August's Gift of Fall Project Kit is Here!

My August Paper Pumpkin Kit arrived while I was up visiting my family. Let me tell you! Opening August's Paper Pumpkin project kit when I got home was such a treat! When I saw the paper paper and the embellishments, I was thrilled! The printed vellum leaves and berries capture the colors of fall perfectly! I love the rainbow of leaves too! I instantly wanted a second kit!

Fall is my absolute favorite season. I love the colors of the changing leaves and how the cool, crisp air brings a blanket of coziness to everything! August's Paper Pumpkin Kit absolutely delivers!

August's project kit comes complete with everything you need (minus scissors) to complete 6 gift bags and 6 gift tags. The gift bags are made from a kraft paper with a twisted raffia-like handle. The embellishments are a variety of solid cardstock, printed paper, and printed vellum, making customization easy!

Did you see the bling too!? YESS!! Love the gold sequins!

I have just the occasion to make these gift bags and tag for too! In September, I will be attending and presenting at a demonstrator-run retreat. I need four gift bags and tags for each of the prizes I will hand out. What great timing!

Sneak Peek into September's Paper Pumpkin Bone Appétit Kit!!

Paper Pumpkin is giving us a sneak peek into September's project kit - Bone Appétit! The name alone screams Halloween! Pun intended!

This September's project kit comes packaged in an exclusive Gorgeous Grape, Whisper White, and Basic Black box. The diagonal pattern on the box reminds me of the Tufted Embossing Folder but with little skulls and cross bones! LOVE IT!

The coordinating colors are Basic Black, Gorgeous Grape, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White. All four colors are fa-boo-lous!

Time to brew up some terrifying treat packaging with everything you need to bring "shivers of delight" to your favorite ghouls & ghosts. September's project kit comes with the supplies you will need (minus scissors) to make 20 food-safe treat boxes. Halloween is a perfect treat giving holiday! Twenty treat boxes is a lot and could accommodate a Halloween party, treats for your child's classroom, giving to family, or bringing to your neighbors and to your community!

You can also increase your project kits from 1 to 2 for even more treat boxes! To increase the number of project kits you receive each month, login to your Paper Pumpkin account.

Scroll down to Subscription Details and click edit. A little dialog box will pop up with different options.

Click the plus sign to increase the number of project kits that you will receive monthly. Then click close.

If you only wish to increase the number of project kits for September, increase the number now. Then on September 11th, log back into your account and reduce the number back to 1 by clicking the minus sign or entering the number 1 in the kit quantity box.

That way you will only receive the increased number of project kits for the month you want and not every month from now on. You have until October 10th to decrease your monthly project kit quantity, otherwise you will receive the increased amount again in October.

I like that Stampin' Up! lets us know if a particular kit is geared toward a specific holiday. I understand that some subscribers may not celebrate Halloween. Did you know that you can also suspend your Paper Pumpkin subscription?

If you continue scrolling down your account page, you will see the Need a Break section. Here is where you can suspend your account for 1 month at a time. For example, if you know you a particular project kit is coming and you don't wish to receive it, click on suspend. Your subscription will automatically resume the next month without having to reactivate it.

Second Sunday Sketches Challenge #04

It is time for another Second Sunday Sketches challenge! If you are new to Second Sunday Sketches, please review the rules here or below. Each second Sunday of the month, I will post a card sketch. A sketch is graphic or drawing of how the elements of a card are layed out.

You will then use the sketch as a guide to create your own card. Your card must be a new creation and reflect the challenge guidelines. Your cardmust include the major elements of the card sketch, such as the number of layers and the general position of the embellishments and/or diecuts. You can rotate the sketch for a top-folding card or for a side-folding card.

You choose the occasion and the color palette as well as the stamp set(s) and the embellishments. I do ask that you use Stampin' Up! products (current or retired).

The measurements will also be included in the blog post for each Second Sunday Sketches sketch challenge. You can use the measurements as givenor increase them or decrease them. For example, if a greeting is stamped on a 1" circle on the sketch, but the greeting you choose is 1-3/4", then increase the size of the circle to 1-3/4". You can also change the shape. Instead of a circle, you can use an oval, a square, a daisy punch, etc.

The challenge will run from the second Sunday of the month until the last day of that month.

August's challenge will run from August 11th, 2019 until August 31st, 2019 at 5pm EST.

If you would like to participate in the Second Sunday Sketches sketch challenge, please create a card using the sketch above and email me a photo of your card by August 31st, 2019 at 5pm EST with the subject line Second Sunday Sketches Entry.

The day after the last day of the month aka the first day of the next month (September 1st), I will place all of the names of the participants in a hat and randomly draw a winner. The winner will receive a prize! The prize each month will change and will be announced at the start of each challenge. August's Second Sunday Sketches sketch challenge prize is Item #149494 Noble Peacock Rhinestones and three hand-made cards from me.

If you are the winner, I will notify you by email. Please respond to my email with your complete mailing address, and I will mail you your prize! If the winner does not respond to my email within 7 days, I will draw another winner.

I will also post all of the entries on my blog (with your names attached to the photos) and the name of the winner.

Here is a sample of how I interpreted this card sketch using the Tropical Chic stamp set.

There are many ways to change this card to make it your own! You can rotate the card layout for a side folding card, change the leaf image to a jar of candy, a pumpkin, a cat, etc, or move the leaf from the left side to the right side. There are many ways to customize this card sketch while keeping the major elements.
