Gnome Thank You Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

My mom sent me the sweetest thank you card! She made a little gnome using the Pine Tree Punch and the December 2019 Something for Everyone Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Gnomes are so popular right now! They are adorable and friendly! I can see why they are in demand right now!

My mom used the Pine Tree Punch to create the gnome's hat, the retired pineapple punch for his nose, and one of the leaves stickers from the Paper Pumpkin Kit for his shoes. She freehand cut the beard. How adorable is he!?!?

July On My Mind Paper Pumpkin Alternative Project #1 You're the Best Pocket Card

My first alternative project for July's On My Mind Paper Pumpkin kit is a pocket card using the Garden Lane project pieces included in the Paper Pumpkin kit as well as a few extras supplies from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. The layout of this card is essential the same as the sample. I changed the layout orientation and turned the card base into a pocket with a pull out insert instead of a side folding card.

To turn the card base into a pocket, add Tear & Tape Adhesive along the bottom edge and along one side of the inside of the card base. Remove the adhesive backing and close the card. Press the edges of the card base together for a secure seal.

Pull on the Mint Macaron half circle or the braided linen thread to remove the card insert.

The half circle tab was created by punching a 1" circle from a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock, scoring it in half, and adhering it to the card insert. Then a 1/4" circle was punched from the center of the half circle tab. A 5" piece of 3/16" Braided Trim was used to create a lark's head knot through the hole.

To make a lark's head knot, fold the Braided Trim in half. Push the fold through the 1/4" hole about half way through. Bring the two tail ends over the card insert and through the loop made by the card insert and the fold in the trim. Pull the two tail ends to tighten the knot.

A pocket style card is a fun way to send a special note to a loved one. The card insert will even fit a gift card! Simply add a bit of adhesive such as SNAIL or a glue dot® or two to the back of the gift card and press it in place on the card insert. Write your message below the gift card.
