I created these adorable mini pots of gold to celebration St. Patrick's Day. I just loved using the Curvy Keepsake Thinlit to make little pots of gold last year. This year I wanted to expand on the idea.
I came up with these mini pots of gold using the Everyday Jars Framelits and the Simply Scored Scoring
Tool.
The base of the mini pot of gold treat holder is an open-topped box made with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. The base measures 3-3/8" square and is scored on all four sides at 1".
The sides are made from the smallest jar in the Everyday Jars Framelit set. I cut off the top two threads where the lid goes to make it look more like a cauldron lip and adhered one jar to each of the four sides of the box.
The shamrock comprises of four Garden Green hearts punched from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. The stem is a free-formed sliver of Garden Green cardstock.
The mini pots of gold are filled with Rolos. This sweet plant holder was my great grandmother's. The leprechaun looks like he is about to steal the mini pot of gold! Cute!
I made three variations - one plain pot of gold, one with a rainbow, and one with cute leprechaun legs sticking out.
The rainbow features the Brights Color Collection and the Rainbow Builder Framelits. I adhered each stripe of the rainbow onto Whisper White cardstock. Once the rainbow was dry, I cut it in half.
The rainbow is attached to a piece of Basic Black cardstock and then adhered to the center of the pot of gold, so it appears to be floating.
This is my favorite pot of gold variation! Check out the leprechaun legs with striped pants! How adorable! I freehand drew the shoes and pants.
The legs are scored at the ends to make a tab to glue into the center of the pot of gold.
I hope you give these St. Patrick's Day mini pots of a gold a try! How would you decorate your mini pot of gold? I would love to see what you create!

You Light Up My Life!
Here is a cute card I made for my husband using the Jar of Love stamp set. I wanted to show how special he is to me but in a less floral way. He enjoys puns, so this stamp set is perfect! Plus, I got to use one of my favorite stamp sets from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog!
The background is sponged from the bottom to the top with Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, and Night of Navy, respectively. The stars are little circles drawn with a white gel pen. The grass was created using Garden Green cardstock and the Fringe Scissors to act as a base or grounding element for the jar.
The fireflies are stamped in Archival Basic Black ink, die cut, and attached with 1/2 of a dimensional. I didn't want the light from the fireflies to disappear into the sky, so I stamped the circle image on Whisper White cardstock with Daffodil Delight ink. Then I punched the circles with 1/4" handheld circle punch. Each circle is attached with a mini glue dot underneath the firefly.
I stamped the smallest jar image in Archival Basic Black ink on vellum. The jar is attached to the grass using mini glue dots only underneath the inked outline. A linen bow finishes the jar.
The inside has more fireflies and the sentiment You Light Up My Life. This is such a sweet card to give someone special in your life. I hope you give this card a try!

Paper Pumpkin July 2016 What a Gem Alternative Project #1
The first alternative project I created is a birthday card for my friends and family with summer birthdays. I used a few stamp sets to create this project - Jar of Love, Labeler Alphabet, and What a Gem.
I love how these gems seem to spill right out of the jar! I used Real Red, Crushed Curry, Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim, and Elegant Eggplant to resemble rubies, topaz, emeralds, diamonds, and amethysts. Tempting Turquoise would also be a gorgeous addition!
I originally intended for this to be a birthday card. However, I really think this could be a thank you card. Change the inside sentiment to one from One Big Meaning, Flourishing Phrases, or Thankful Thoughts. You could even create a set of both birthday and thank you cards to give as a gift!
What other alternative projects have you made with this month's Paper Pumpkin Kit? I would love to see what you make!
