New Printable! Stampin' Blends Color Sample Cards

I created a new printable for the Stampin' Blends that fits on the same metal binder ring as your Color Chip Sample Cards.

Simply print pages 1 & 2 onto Thick Whisper White Cardstock and pages 3 & 4 onto copy paper. Cut out the cards. Adhere the item numbers charts to the backs of their corresponding sample cards. Then color in each box with both the light and the dark Stampin' Blends.

I have also updated the 8-1/2" x 11" Stampin' Blends Color Sample Chart to include the soon to debut Stampin' Blends colors in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!

If you haven't created your Color Chip Sample Cards yet, I am having a series of classes in June starting on June 4th. Each class will focus on one color collection or two color collections because they take time to stamp, cut, and glue together and time for me to punch out all of the colors of cardstock and print out the cards.

I will also print out the Stampin’ Blends Chart for you to complete at home. Please note the 2019-2021 In Color Markers are not yet available for purchase and will not be included in this class at this time. Once they become available for purchase, we can add them.

Wild About You Fun Fold Card

I saw an interesting take on a Fun Fold card by fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator Sam Hammond Donald that I couldn't wait to try! She called her fold the Diamond Triangular Fold. It looks like scored diamonds and triangles when you open the card. I used her measurements and folding guidelines to create my own card using the Animal Outing stamp set and the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper.

A belly band keeps this 6"-square card closed. To attach the leaf ribbon to the belly band, I put a glue dot(r) underneath every other leaf. I recommend using a dry glue such as glue dots or Tear & Tape adhesive when attaching this ribbon. Otherwise, the ribbon tends to absorb the wet glue (i.e. Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue) like a sponge and doesn't stick well.

This fun fold is not complicated and works with any sized cardstock as long as it is a square. For example, I used a 6" by 6" piece of Balmy Blue cardstock for the card base.

Start with a square of cardstock. Score the cardstock half. Rotate the cardstock 90 degrees. Score the cardstock in half. Then rotate the cardstock so that one point is at the top and one point is at the bottom. Score from point to point. Fold and burnish all score lines.

I decorated the inside with diamonds and triangles of Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper. I found my diamond measurement by dividing the card base width and length by 2 and subtracting 1/4" for the matting. So, 6 divided by 2 is 3. Three - 1/4" = 2-3/4". To cut the triangles, I first cut a 2-3/4" square and then cut it point to point on the Stampin' Trimmer.

If your card base is not 6" by 6", your Designer Series Paper squares may be a different size. Measure the width and length of the diamond and subtract 1/4" from both the width and the length to get the adjusted square dimensions.

If you are using Designer Series Paper with a pattern that has a specific direction, be sure to cut the paper diagonally to keep the right orientation of the pattern.

I couldn't leave the back of the card blank, so I added the same Designer Series Paper and stamped the greeting again. This time I stamped all of the animal images in the stamp set surrounding the greeting for a touch of whimsy. I think my nephew will think that is humorous!

Each of the animals are colored with Stampin' Blends. I started by applying the darker of each color to the shaded areas in the stamped images. Animal Outing has shading lines right on the stamp itself to help you shade and blend the colors. Talk about helpful! Then I colored in the rest of the area with the lighter of each color. When I was getting close to the darker color, I made little circles with the Stampin' Blend along the edge of the darker color to join the two shades together.

This fun fold card sits up slightly and looks almost like a frog sitting down! How cute!
