Easter Lamb Card

This little cutey went straight to the top of my wishlist as soon as I saw him in the 2016 Occasions catalog!

Besides Easter projects, Easter Lamb would be terrific for baby cards or banners, gift packaging, or even a tag with washing instructions for hand knitted gifts. You could color in some of his fleece with markers, add Wink of Stella, or even pearls to make him even cuter!

The DSP is from Birthday Bouquet - also in the 2016 Occasions catalog. This is my favorite DSP from the Occasions catalog. I used one pack and then ordered two more!

The layout is a slightly modified (measurement-wise) version of yesterday's post. This layout is a keeper! Thanks Patsy!

Wildflower Fields Birthday

I absolutely loved Patsy Waggoner's Party with Cake card on Tuesday. I loved the layout, the color scheme, and the stamp set.  Unfortunately, I do not have that stamp set or the Cherry on Top DSP yet. Ironically, my Stampin' Up! box arrived later that afternoon!

I CASED the layout instead. I wanted to showcase the Wildflower Fields DSP from the 2016 Sale-A-Bration catalog. It's bright, floral, and cheery. I'm ready to usher in the Spring weather!

I was not completely satisfied with the first attempts at the center stamp and sentiment. It is really darling, but it looked too busy with the DSP. I turned it into a 3" x 3" card instead.

I ultimately used the Balloon Celebration stamp set and the Grateful Bunch stamp set with the Wildflower Fields DSP instead. This is what I came up with.

The color scheme for this card was Old Olive, Hello Honey, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, and Basic Black. This card is sure to bring some birthday delight!

#Imbringingbirthdaysback Update

Stampin' Up!'s training manager Shannon West is bringing birthdays back with her own handmade birthday card movement! Instead of only posting on social media or sending an email, she intends to create handcrafted birthday cards for her family and her friends and anyone that asks! A handmade card, especially a birthday card, is such a wonderful way to show how much your care about the people in your life. I am totally on board with this movement!

Shannon created her own hashtag stamp to spread the word. Shannon's stamp sold out within four hours when it was released on March 1st! That is an incredible amount of stamps sold! This stamp was originally released as a limited supply offer. However, the response to this movement has been so overwhelmingly positive that Stampin' Up! decided to make this stamp available as a current stamp instead of for a limited time. Stampin' Up! also did an amazing job getting the stamp quickly back in stock and available to purchase today, March 7th! Woohoo!

St. Patrick's Day Pin Card

There is a custom of wearing something green on St. Patrick's Day to avoid getting pinched by the leprechauns and fairies. I created this card with a removable decorative pin to keep oneself pinch-free. Because my family is mostly Irish, I thought that they would get a kick out of this card and pin combo.

This project uses many of the same stamps, colors, and materials as the burlap banner St. Patrick's Day card. The Zig Zag TIEF, to me, seems to have an interlocking design that reminds me of the way that Celtic Knots are also interlocking. The Garden Green is similar to a shamrock. The Whisper White reminds me of the Irish Filet crochet my aunt used to do.

After embossing the Whisper White cardstock, I punched two holes at the top with one of the Baker's Box handle dies to hold the pin in place. I didn't punch the Garden Green card base. I wanted to have some separation between the sharp pin point and the person opening the card just in case and because it looked tidier. If your pin back is longer or shorter, you can use a 1/4" handheld circle punch instead to get the proper spacing.

In addition, I raised the Whisper White cardstock with two dimensionals stacked on top of each other in all four corners and in the middle. This gave the pin enough height to lay flatter on top of the card.

On the inside the same Irish Blessing is printed - "May your troubles be less and your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come through your door."

The measurements for this card are:
Card Base: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" in Garden Green (horizontal fold)
Outside Mat: 5-1/4" x 4" in Whisper White embossed with Zig Zag TIEF
Inside Mat: 5-1/4" x 4" in Whisper White
Burlap Ribbon: 2" x 1-1/4"
Shamrock Hearts: Scraps of Garden Green
Scalloped Circles: Scraps of Garden Green and Whisper White
