Fabulous Beautiful You Party Invitations

One of my dear customers asked me if I could help her put together some invitations to her sister's birthday party. She had a specific design and stamp set in mind. The invitation is a slightly modified CASE of a card created by Michelle Carter. I love this layout!

Her sister's favorite color is purple. So, we changed the color to Elegant Eggplant. We also added a 75 and fabulous embellishment made by my customer on her computer's word processing program and then cut out using the Layering Circles Framelits.

The pattern in the dress and in the hat were created by stamping the lady in the hat's image twice - once on Whisper White cardstock and once on Elegant Eggplant Designer Series Paper. Fussy cut  the dress and hat from the Elegant Eggplant paper and adhere on top of the lady in the hat image on the Whisper White cardstock.

This technique is also called paper piecing. It takes a small bit of time, but it is definitely worth the effort! So striking!

On the inside of the inviation my sweet customer typed the party information on her computer and printed it onto Whisper White cardstock. We trimmed the edges to fit inside the invitation.

Weekend Craft Show Show and Tell

I participated in a local craft show last weekend. Here are some of the photographs of my table. I had card samples from my recent classes and card swaps, catalog packs, and class schedules.

Craft with Beth: Craft Fair Show Photographs Stampin' Up!

On the other end of the table I had some adorable Easter and spring treats and gifts for sale.

Craft with Beth: Craft Fair Show Photographs Stampin' Up!

These adorable bunny treat holders were made using the Curvy Keepsake Framelit. These was inspired by a design from Jenny Burnett.

Craft with Beth: Craft Fair Show Photographs Stampin' Up!

Most of my treat holders are filled with candy. However, I left the bunnies empty because the Curvy Keepsake box is big enough to fit candy as well as non--candy items and not everyone gives candy at Easter.

Some Alternatives to Candy May Include:
  • small toys
  • costume jewelry
  • organic cheese bunny crackers (packaged in a little bag)
  • gift cards
  • a few crayons
  • ink spots
  • pencil erasers
  • washi tape
  • paper clips
  • a few coins or dollar bills
  • a homemade coupon

Additionally, these bunnies could be used during an Easter egg hunt instead of the plastic eggs.

How cute do these carrots look in a mini bushel basket?

All of the items for sale were stamped with our Angel Policy stamp set I Stamped This. I Stamped This is a great stamp set for craft show vendors as well as for bakers, artists, and every day use. I think it adds a  nice touch to show your loved ones you created a special gift or card just for them.

The color scheme is ready for spring! It's bright and cheery! There is a good variety of colors, making these projects gender neutral. The designer series paper in this kit reminds me of the spin art I did when I was younger. Cute!

Create Your Own Easter Basket with the Window Box Thinlits

I created a little Easter basket using the Window Box Thinlits and the Basket Bunch Bundle that is perfect for filling with a little candy or a small toy!

Craft with Beth: Easter Basket Window Shopping Window Box Thinlits Framelits Basket Bunch Basket Builder Framelits Gift Packaging

First cut one hexagon framelit from the Window Box Thinlits from Tip Top Taupe cardstock.

Then cut the hexagon top in half horizontally. These half hexagons will form the front and back sides of the basket.

Adhere the top half of the hexagon you just cut to the bottom center of the box sides. Your basket will look like a butterfly or bee now.

Next place the half hexagon thinlit with the rectangular cuts on the half hexagon and run it through the Big Shot.

Repeat for the other half hexagon.

Burnish all score lines. Fold the square sides up and adhere to the front and back sides of the basket.

Cut a 1" by 8" strip of Tip Top Taupe cardstock for the handle. Attach the handle to the sides of the basket with brads. This enables the handle to be positional. I also added a circle of cardstock on the inside of the basket to cover the brad ends. This is an optional step. You can also glue the handle to the basket if you do not wish to use brads.

Craft with Beth: Easter Basket Window Shopping Window Box Thinlits Framelits Basket Bunch Basket Builder Framelits Gift Packaging

Once the handle is attached, add a Whisper White organza faux bow to the handle. Wrap the ribbon around the handle and adhere in place with glue dots. It is better to use a dry glue here. Glue dots won't make the ribbon soggy.

Then tie a bow separately and adhere over the center of the ribbon on the handle. Looks great and is easy-peasy.

Your basket is ready to decorate. For my basket, I added a Whisper White cardstock strip with the You're Egg-stra Special stamp in Chocolate Chip ink and snipped the ends to create a banner. Then I added 3 Easter eggs using Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky, and Pink Pirouette cardstock and the Basket Builder Framelits.

Next fill with paper strips for grass and with your treats. You can use store bought paper grass or use the Fringe Scissors and Wild Wasabi cardstock to make your own paper grass.

You can also place the basket in a gusseted cellophane bag for giving.
