Welcome to Week 3 of the 8 Weeks of Halloween! Today's project features treat totes made using the Envelope Punch Board and the Trick or Tweet Stamp Set. The Envelope Punch Board is one of my favorite tools to create treat holders!
These treat totes are such a perfect size for chocolates, candy, and small gifts that I wanted to make new versions using the treat tote instructions I did last year using the Cat Punch.
The four animals from Trick or Tweet are represented here - the dog in the witch hat, the elephant disguised as a bat, the cat wrapped up like a mummy, and the bird dressed as a ghost.
I colored the dog and the cat with Stampin' Write Markers and the elephant and the bird with Stampin' Blends. Pick the right ink pad for each media for the best results.
If you choose, water-based ink and water-based coloring media, they will blend together. If you choose alcohol-based ink and alcohol-based coloring media, they will blend together. Think about it like oil and water. Water by itself mixes together well. Oil by itself mixes together well. However, oil and water don't like to mix on their own and will separate. You don't want your ink and your coloring media to become a blurry mess. So, choose inks that don't blend with your coloring media. Use "oil" (ie alcohol-based) ink for water-based media. Use "water" (ie water-based) ink for alcohol-based media.
Use Stayz On Black Ink for the images you want to use Stampin' Write Markers. Stayz On is an alcohol-based dye solvent ink that does not react to water-based media like Stampin' Write Markers, so it will not bleed. But, Stayz On Ink will bleed if you use the alcohol-based Stampin' Blends.
Use Momento Tuxedo Black Ink for the images you want to use Stampin' Blends. Momento is a water-based dye ink that does not react with alcohol-based media like alcohol-based Stampin' Blends, but Momento Ink will bleed if you use water-based media like Stampin' Write Markers and Watercolor Pencils.
I stamped the "You're Spooktacular" greeting onto Highland Heather cardstock and fussy cut each of the words to give the greeting more interest.
The elephant stamp was slightly larger than the rest of the animal stamps, so I used a 2-1/4" Circle Punch and a 2" Layering Circles Framelit instead of the 2" Circle Punch and the Starburst Punch like the other animal stamps.
The greeting is punched with the Classic Label Punch once just as you normally would and again on each end to create banner tails. Take about multipurpose!
I colored the cat image like my gray tabby! She loves Halloween like I do! She is our official trick or treat greeter. If she had thumbs, I am sure she would hand out the candy too!
The mummy bandages are given an aged look with a bit of Sahara Sand Stampin' Write Marker along the underside of each bandage.
This trick-or-tweeter tote is fa-boo-lus for the bird lover (Psst..Jessica! :) )!
I love the Black Organdy Ribbon tied on two of the treat totes! It is great for tying bows because the ribbon is stiff enough to stay in place without much effort, the sparkles stay put, and it looks amazing! I can see this being used on a New Year's card or even a milestone birthday!
The Envelope Punch Board treat totes are all so cute! How could you not make one of each!?
