Happy World Cardmaking Day!
Happy World Cardmaking Day! Today is a fantastic day to make and send cards to loved ones! Choose your favorite stamp sets, designer series papers, and embellishments and create a card for an upcoming occasion or to send a special message to a favorite friend.
Fun folds are some of my favorite ways to make cards! I love the way fun folds are constructed and how they open differently than regular cards. I also like that fun folds have a layout already designed for you, but you can still add your own touch by choosing the color palette, the papers, the stamps, and the embellishments. Sometimes, deciding on a layout is the most difficult part of creating a card.
This Whale Done tower card came together quickly. I added a label die cut to the front of the card with a stamped underwater scene and whale punch.
Techniques are a great ways to expand and grow your stamping skills. It also helps see new possibilities, creative options, and layouts. Sponging techniques are some of my favorite ways to incorporate color and dimension to my cards like this birthday sliding puzzle card below!
Whether you are creating new cards, finishing cards in progress, or trying a new technique, I hope you are having a fun-filled day of making and sending cards to family and friends!
I would love to see what you created for World Cardmaking Day! Email me a photo of your cards to craftwithbeth @ gmail.com. I would love to feature your card in one of my upcoming newsletters!
Happy Stamping!

Fun Fold: Free as a Bird Friendship Double Easel Card
In order to stay connected while we are social distancing and sheltering
in place, my demonstrator team Purrfect Stampers and I have been having video stamping
sessions on Zoom a few times a week. Each session we share what is
happening in our lives and what projects we are working on. At the end of our chats we set a project challenge to complete between our stamping sessions.
For today's session, we made double easel cards using our choice of stamp sets and embellishments. It can stand up on its own and be displayed. When we can't be there in person with all of our loved ones, a card or memento to look at each day is a visual reminder of the love and care that you have for each other.
I chose the Free as a Bird stamp set, the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, and the Story Label Punch to decorate my double easel card. This card is going to my best friend who loves birds. I think she will really like it!
This card looks more complicated than it is. The card base comes together quickly and easily. Best of all, you can use any cardstock, stamp sets, and embellishments you have to truly make this card your own!
The double easel card starts with a 4-1/4" x 11" card base and then z-fold card front is attached.
To make the z-folded front panel, cut a 4" x 10-1/2" piece of cardstock and score it at 5-1/4" and at 7-3/4". Then fold and burnish the score lines as follows. Fold the 5-1/4" score line down like a valley. Fold the 7-3/4" score line up like a mountain.
Then attach the front panel to the front of the card base and decorate it with your favorite papers, stamps, and embellishments!
The Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper is a treasure trove of embellishments! There are several patterns that can be fussy cut to be use as embellishments like this sweet, little bird!
The inside of the card features a yellow feather - also from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. I love adding a little something stamped or a cute doodad inside of my cards for an extra pop of color!
I would love for you to join in on the fun and create your own double easel card! Post your double easel card on my Facebook page today! I can't wait to see what you create!
Thanks for stopping by!
