August Monthly Meeting

Last night we had our demonstrator's monthly meeting. I look forward to this meeting every month. We sampled great new products from the 2016-2017 Holiday Catalog! The Designer Series Paper packs are gorgeous! The color palettes for Christmas and for Halloween are fantastic! We are under two weeks until the catalog goes live. I can't wait!

Craft with Beth: Monthly Meeting Northern Lights Variation BIrthday Card Demonstrated by Susan

We had a few Show and Shares too! Susan demonstrated a variation of the Northern Lights Technique with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

First, she sponged diagonal stripes of Perfect Plum, Watermelon Wonder, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, and Wild Wasabi across a 5" by 3-3/4"" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Then Susan sponged a layer of Night of Navy and a layer of Basic Black around the left, top, and right sides.

On the bottom she torn a piece of copy paper to create a mountainous outline. Susan placed the torn paper above where she wanted to sponge the mountainous landscape and sponged the bottom with Basic Gray. Next, Susan adhered this to a 5-1/4" by 4" piece of Whisper White cardstock and then to a 5-1/2" by 8-1/2" folded piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock.

Finally, she add little stars with a white gel pen and stamped the happy birthday sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

This card would be great for both men and women! You could also change the sentiment and colors to suit almost any occasion! This is a terrific all occasion card.

Above are our Make and Takes presented by Sally, Beth S., Christine, and Lenore. We made four different cards using the Thoughtful Branches, Flurry of Wishes, Pop of Paradise, Fresh Fruit, and Baby Bear stamp sets. I apologize I do not know who the original designers of these cards are. If these are your designs, please let me know. I want to give credit where it is due.

We had another Show and Share by Vicki, however I would like to put together a longer tutorial before I share.

I truly look forward to our demonstrator meetings! We have a great group of ladies! We share ideas, techniques, and experiences. If you would like to come to our monthly meetings too, join my team! I would love to have you as a part of my team!

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Pumpkin: August 2016 Bold Botanicals

My August 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit arrived in the mail! I admittedly found myself feeling a wee bit jealous when my mom called me yesterday to say her kit arrived. She was kind enough to give me a sneak peek at the entire kit contents!

Craft with Beth: Paper Pumpkin August 2016 Bold Botanicals Cover

This month's kit is called Bold Botanicals and features two cute cards and one gift card holder or mini card. Look at all of the supplies that come with this month's kit! The wooden leaves and flowers are really sweet. I like the Cajun Craze and Mint Macaron printed paper too. The little note cards with the ruled lines are darling!

I have some ideas for the corner flower stamp! The ideas are coming! Stay tuned for alternative project ideas.

Craft with Beth: Paper Pumpkin August 2016 Bold Botanicals Kit Color Scheme Palette

The colors are Bermuda Bay, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Mint Macaron, Tangerine Tango, and Tip Top Taupe. I love this color combination! It reminds me of leaves turning to oranges and browns against an early fall sky.

Our next Paper Pumpkin Kit Club is Saturday, August 27th from 1pm to 4pm. We will assemble and create alternative projects using the kit's supplies as well as additional Stampin' Up! products. Bring your Paper Pumpkin Kit and scissors. This event is free. However, please RSVP at least two days prior by text, phone, or email. I want to prepare enough refreshments for everyone.

Even if you are not a subscriber, come to our club meeting to try a project and to see how fun Paper Pumpkin is! You may just sign up!

You Light Up My Life!

Here is a cute card I made for my husband using the Jar of Love stamp set. I wanted to show how special he is to me but in a less floral way. He enjoys puns, so this stamp set is perfect! Plus, I got to use one of my favorite stamp sets from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog!

Craft with Beth: Jar of Love Firefly Thinking of You You Light Up My Life Stampin' Up! Card

The background is sponged from the bottom to the top with Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, and Night of Navy, respectively. The stars are little circles drawn with a white gel pen. The grass was created using Garden Green cardstock and the Fringe Scissors to act as a base or grounding element for the jar.

Craft with Beth: Jar of Love Firefly Thinking of You You Light Up My Life Stampin' Up! Card

The fireflies are stamped in Archival Basic Black ink, die cut, and attached with 1/2 of a dimensional. I didn't want the light from the fireflies to disappear into the sky, so I stamped the circle image on Whisper White cardstock with Daffodil Delight ink. Then I punched the circles with 1/4" handheld circle punch. Each circle is attached with a mini glue dot underneath the firefly.

I stamped the smallest jar image in Archival Basic Black ink on vellum. The jar is attached to the grass using mini glue dots only underneath the inked outline. A linen bow finishes the jar.

Craft with Beth: Jar of Love Firefly Thinking of You You Light Up My Life Stampin' Up! Card

The inside has more fireflies and the sentiment You Light Up My Life. This is such a sweet card to give someone special in your life. I hope you give this card a try!

Wishing You Warmth and Cheer

Here is a quick, cozy Christmas card using the soon to be released Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF and the Warmth and Cheer stamp set.

Craft with Beth: Warmth and Cheer Dynamic Knit Texturized Impressions Embossing Folder TIEF Stampin' Up! Christmas Card

This card is a modified CASE from Wednesday's post. I changed the Whisper White rectangle into a scallop square using the Layered Squares Framelits and rotated the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF.

The detail of the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF is amazing! As a longtime knitter, I can say the purl stitches between the cables are truly life-like. This TIEF is quickly becoming my favorite embossing folder. I can't wait to make more projects!

If you have not ordered from me in the last 12 months and would like a copy of the 2016-2017 Holiday Catalog, please contact me today with your request and mailing address.

Wood-Mounted Stamp Set

Clear-Mounted Stamp Set

This set also includes two different sizes of “© Stampin' Up!” for you to stamp onto projects that you create to sell. If you do sell your cards and paper crafting projects that feature Stampin' Up! stamps, this copyright stamp should be included on your projects. Click here for more information about the Stampin' Up! Angel Policy.

I have this stamp set as well as the Angel Policy Stamp Set that just retired at the end of May. I have to say I like this one much better! The fork, knife, and spoon image is just darling! The hand stamped by image is fantastic. The from my heart image is precious! This stamp set also enhances my sense of pride in my work!

You can use these stamps for projects you don't sell too. Adding the hand stamped image lets everyone know you created something special just for them! The recipients of my cards know when they see these stamped images on the backs of my cards that I made them especially for them!

Don't limit these stamps to the backs of your projects only! Try making a tag with the hot air balloon image to include on a birthday present. Use the from my kitchen image on a recipe card or as a tag for a jar of homemade jam. Or, even stamp the one of a kind image onto the onesie stamp from the Made with Love stamp set for that special baby gift! I hope you include the I Stamped This stamp set in your next order!
