Iconic Christmas Decoration Hunt Card

Merry Christmas! I hope you all had a wonderful day with family and friends! Today I would like to share the Christmas card I made for one of my nephews. I know it is too late for this year (unless you celebrate Kings' Day or the Epiphany), but I don't want you to miss out on the Iconic Christmas Bundle like I almost did.

When I first saw the Iconic Christmas stamp set and Framelit Bundle, it was not on my immediate must have list. After pouring over the Holiday Catalog again, an idea burst into my head. Iconic Christmas would make an amazing I Spy™ type of Christmas card for my six year old nephew! Brilliant!

I used Stampin' Write Markers and Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the Christmas decorations. Some decorations are traditional colors and some are not. I tried to vary the colors to make the game take a little longer and be more interesting.

The inside has a pocket perfect for holding clues to find different Christmas decorations. I wrote a little story about Santa decorating the Christmas tree and helping him find each of the decorations.

I used a word processing program to create a 3-1/3" x 4-3/4" text box with the story and the clues and printed it directly onto Thick Whisper White cardstock. I didn't write clues for all of the decorations.

I wrote a few prompting questions to start a conversation with my nephew about the decorations. He is at an age where he is quantifying and categorizing items and wants to tell you about his observations. Why not help develop his conversation, observation, and counting skills. I also wrote out each number word instead of typing the symbol. My nephew is reading more and more every day, so I thought it would be a good challenge to practice reading number words (can you tell I was an elementary school teacher).
