The Love Note Framelits availability may, unfortunately, affect Valentine's Day projects. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Stampin' Up! is working to replenish inventory as quickly as they can. I think these framelits are worth the wait even if you cannot use them for this Valentine's Day. The envelope framelits are so sweet for lunch box notes, banners, and confetti pockets all year round. The new watercolor pencils are also on backorder.  At my catalog launch party, I did a demonstration using the watercolor pencils, blender pens, aquapainters, and Inside the Line's Designer Series Paper. Then everyone used the watercolor pencils to make a cute card. If you came to the party, you know how amazing these pencils are! The colors are vibrant. They color like a dream. They come in a rainbow assortment of colors that match Stampin' Up!'s colors.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone is able to spend time with family and friends today! The new year brings newness and renewal, whether it is a fresh start, a renewal of energy, resolutions, or new intentions and goals.

For me, the new year symbolizes a time to renew or establish new goals. This year my stamping goal is to incorporate more washi tape into my projects. I love the look of washi tape, but I don't always know what to do with it. Stay tuned for some great washi tape projects!

The Best is Yet to Come!

There are only a few more days to purchase from the Holiday Catalog. Don't miss out on your favorite retiring products! One of my favorite retiring stamp sets is the Frosted Medallions.

At first glance, these six stamps seem to be focused on celebrating New Year's Day. I love New Year's Day. It is full of hope, promise, and good intentions. It is a fresh new start!

You can create gorgeous New Year's cards like the ones pictured below.

This layout was inspired by a autumnal card by Karen Pedersen. I stamped the smaller lace medallion randomly over a top-folding Whisper White card base in Sweet Sugarplum ink. Then I added a 2" by 4-1/4" piece of Sweet Sugar Plum at the bottom embossed with Happy New Year in silver. A piece of silver metallic ribbon covers where the two pieces meet. A faux knot bow added more dimension and interest.

These three cards from the Holiday Catalog demonstrate even more great New Year's cards! I love how the Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper adds just the right amount of texture without detracting from the overall design!

When you look at this stamp set further, you can imagine more possibilities! The lace medallion and the flower medallion lend themselves to formal and informal special days. The medallions are perfect for creating your own Designer Series Paper and One Sheet Wonders.

The two sentiments "The best is yet to come" and "Wishing you the happiest of days" can be used for more occasions, including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and even encouragement.

The card below is a modified CASE from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. This card could be used for a wedding!

Cookie Cutter Bling

I participated in a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Christmas Swap at my upline's last meeting. Our theme was to create a three-dimensional gift. I made a bracelet and earring set using the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set. I was thinking how much these stamps look like ginger bread cookies. How fun would it be to make little shrink cookies?!? When I saw that shrink paper has been a popular media for this adorable, festive stamp set, I couldn't wait to try it!

I used sterling silver clasps and beads and glass crystal beads in red, green, and iridescent clear set among Santa and his reindeer. This bracelet and earring set was fun, easy, and surprisingly quick to make!

First, stamp your image on shrink paper using Stayz On Ink or other ink that is permanent and NOT water soluble. You want an ink that will not smudge or evaporate in the oven. Allow your stamped image to dry for a few minutes. Then color each stamped image using permanent markers. I found that the color will deepen and darken in the oven. So, choose lighter shades.

Allow the markers to dry for a few minutes. Then punch out each stamped image. Then punch a 1/8" hole at the top of Santa's hat and at the top of one of the reindeer's antlers.

Place your cuties on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake accordingly to the shrink paper's manufacturer's directions. Don't leave your oven. These guys took less than 2 minutes to shrink.  It is fun to watch them shrink too!

With needle-nosed pliers, add jump rings to each of the Santas and the reindeer. Cut your beading wire. Add one part of the clasp and crimp bead to one end of the beading wire. Thread your beads. Add your other part of the clasp and crimp bead. Thread the beading wire back through a few beads. Crimp the crimp bead. Cut the excess beading wire. Viola! Your bracelet is finished and ready to wear!

To make the earrings, cut a length of beading wire. Place a Santa in the center of the beading wire. Fold the wire in half. You will thread the beads and earring finding to BOTH strands of the beading wire. Add a small silver bead, a green glass bead, another small silver bead, a crimp bead, and an earring finding. Then thread the beading wire back through the crimp bead and the small silver bead. Crimp the crimp bead. Cut the excess beading wire.

How cute are these earrings?! I made this set plus many more in one morning. It will take you much less time to make just one set. I bet you could make both the bracelet and earrings in the morning and wear them to a party at night!
