2018 Stampin' Up! Color ReVamp Cheat Sheet

Craft with Beth: Stampin Up Color ReVamp 2018 Title Graphic

To stay with the current trends and offer a variety of color shades, Stampin' Up! is revamping their color selections. A revamp is a major change in the color selections. Many of the current colors are retiring, some previous In Colors are returning, and many new colors will be added.

Seventeen total colors are retiring - Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Wisteria Wonder, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum. If you love any of these colors, I recommend stocking up sooner to avoid missing out. I stocked up on all of these colors too.

The Color Collections are changing. The Color Collections will still be called the Brights, the Subtles, the Regals, and the Neutrals. However, a new color group will be added called the Basics and will include Basic Black, Whisper White, and Very Vanilla. Moving Basic Black, Whisper White, and Very Vanilla to their own Color Collection makes room for 3 more colors. So, instead of 50 colors, there will be 53 colors.

Some colors have changed Color Collections. Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Rich Razzleberry moved from the Brights to the Regals.  Night of Navy moved from the Regals to the Neutrals.

  • Current Stampin' Up! Colors Chart - This chart shows all of the current Stampin' Up! colors starting June 1st, 2018.
  • Color Chip Card Samples Template - My Color Coach has been updated to show all of the new changes with the 2018 Color Revamp. I have also included a Retired Card and a Blank Card.

Overall, I am very happy with the Color Revamp. The last time they refreshed their colors was in 2013. So, it has been some time since the colors were shuffled around. I do think it was needed as trends and needs change. I think it makes a lot of sense to have Basic Black, Whisper White, and Very Vanilla in their own Color Collection. I am looking forward to playing with the new colors. I am so excited that Mint Macaron and Coastal Cabana are returning! They are some of my favorite past In Colors.

A Color ReVamp can be overwhelming, especially when a lot of colors are retiring and the ink pads and refills are redesigned and reformulated. I am not replacing all of my current, non-retiring ink pad colors or my ink refills at this time. Once my ink refills run out, I will replace them with the new ink refill with the defoamer.

What do you think about the Color Revamp? What are your favorite new colors? What are favorite returning colors?

Please let me know if you have questions about the Color ReVamp. I am happy to assist!

Last Chance Products and Retiring Colors

Craft with Beth: Last Chance Products Title Graphic Stampin Up

I am finally back from Atlanta. It was a wonderful weekend with friends, stamping, and pouring over the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. I will share more photos shortly. There are a lot of changes coming to the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog - retiring products, ink pad and ink refill changes, the Color ReVamp. I will spread the information over several posts.

Firstly, the Retiring Products List is available! You can see the lists in PDF format and in my online store.

For the quickest way to see which of your favorite products are retiring, check my online store in the Last Chance Product section. My online store may also show if the product status is low. If you don't see a product on the retiring list in my online store, it may already be sold out.

Please review the Retiring Lists carefully. The lists are very long and can be overwhelming. All Bundle pricing retires even if the individual products are not retiring. For example, the Lemon Zest Bundle is retiring, but the Lemon Zest stamp set and the Lemon Builder Punch are not retiring.

All Classic ink pads and ink refills are retiring even if the color itself is not retiring. Stampin' Up! is retiring the current ink pad style and reformulating the ink refills. The molds that make the ink pads are wearing out to point they need to make new molds. So, instead of making new molds of the same ink pad design, Stampin' Up! redesigned the ink pad molds. The ink pad style is changing to a slimmer, easier to open container. There are color name labels in four different languages as well as a label for the inside of the ink pad. The new style of ink pads will fit in the Ink Pad Caddy.

Archival Basic Black Ink Pads and Ink Refills are retiring. Stayz On Ink Pads are returning to replace the Basic Black Ink Pads and Ink Refills. Stayz On is a permanent, alcohol solvent based ink pad that is suitable for water coloring and for use with Stampin' Write Markers. However, if you use it on photopolymer stamps, be sure to clean the stamps after use with Stayz On cleaner and wash them with dish soap. If you love Archival Basic Black ink like I do, I recommend ordering soon to avoid missing out.

There is a Color ReVamp as well. In order to keep up with current trends and to have more variety in the shades of colors they offer, Stampin' Up! is retiring 17 colors (13 colors + 4 In Colors) and adding 16 colors as well as shifting the color collections.

The retiring colors are Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Wisteria Wonder, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum. If you would would to purchase products in the retiring colors, I recommend purchasing them now as they often sell out the quickest, especially ink pads and ink refills.

Classic Stampin' Ink Pads, Classic Stampin' Ink Pad Collections, and Classic Stampin' Ink Refills are guaranteed in stock through May 7th, 2018 and then as supplies last.

Retiring Single Color Cardstock (all sizes and colors), Cardstock Packs, Cardstock Collections, Stampin' Write Markers (all pack sizes), Color Caddy, and Color Embellishments are while supplies last through May 31st, 2018.

I recommend placing your order for any retiring products soon to avoid missing out. I placed my retiring order already.

I will talk more about the new and the returning colors in my next post. It was a lot to take in at OnStage in Atlanta, so I don't want to overwhelm you all at once. Please let me know if you have questions about the retiring lists and retiring products. I am happy to assist!

Hello Christmas Gift Tag

I was about to recycle my test wreath from Friday's Hello Spring Wreath card when I realized it could become a Christmas wreath if I stamped small holly berries on it using the small and medium circle stamps from Hello Easter. I love that this stamp set is full of cute doodads!

Instead of making a card, I thought this holly wreath would make a great Christmas gift tag. It is never too early to start getting ready for Christmas!

The banner gift tag base is a 2-1/2" x 5" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock stamped with the Hardwood background stamp in Soft Suede ink. The tag is topped with a 3/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Garden Green cardstock embossed with the Holly Embossing Folder.

The Merry Christmas greeting comes from the Santa's Sleigh stamp set in the Annual Catalog. To make the greeting on two lines instead of one, I first used the brush end of a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to "ink up" the word Christmas only and stamped it inside the wreath. Then I cleaned the stamp really well before "inking up" the Merry with the brush end of the marker and stamped it above Christmas.

I added a gold ribbon tie to attach the gift tag to a gift bag and a gold bow to the wreath for a bit of sparkle.

At first glance, Hello Easter appears to be a single occasion stamp set, but after working with it for awhile, I can really envision more occasions that Hello Easter would be perfect for, especially all of the little flowers and leaves stamps!

Have you discovered other occasions to use the Hello Easter stamp set for? I would love to see what you make!

Create a Spring Wreath Card

After I made the Bunny Treat Holders for OnStage, I thought they looked somewhat plain but cute. I considered adding some flowers inside the circle, but I decided to leave them as is. However, I had an idea to create an arrangement around the circle instead. You know I love a wreath!

Craft with Beth: Hello Easter Bunny Spring Wreath card Stampin Up Layering Circles Framelits

Since I accidentally stamped an extra Hello Spring circle and didn't want it to go waste, I decided to stamp a Soft Suede bunny above the greeting and add a scalloped circle behind it just to see what it looked like.

Happy with the bunny embellishment, I started to work on the wreath. I tested my wreath shape on a piece of scrap cardstock to make sure the leaf stamp would make a circular wreath.

Craft with Beth: Hello Easter Bunny Spring Wreath card Stampin Up Layering Circles Framelits

To ensure I stamped a circle, I traced the scalloped circle die cut with a pencil on a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock where I wanted the wreath to be. Then I proceeded to stamp the leaf stamp around the scalloped circle outline. Once I was satisfied with the wreath, I erased the pencil lines.

On the inside, I stamped some of the flowers and circle images using the same color ink pads as on the card front. I am really pleased with how this card and the wreath turned out.

Have you used the Hello Easter stamp set to make a wreath? I would love to see what you create.
